David de Mingo
Software engineer and IT vocational education teacher.
I teach at Institut Provençana in Barcelona — Web Application Development, Cross-Platform Application Development and Network Systems Administration, the IT-family cicles formatius de grau superior (CFGS, Higher VET / EQF 5).
Everything under xtec.dev is my own work: I built and maintain Learn (course materials), School (the teacher workflow) and Grade (LLM-assisted grading), along with the infrastructure they run on. Sole author, sole maintainer.
I came to engineering from psychology. The order matters: I think of software as something people build for other people, and I design the courses around how learning actually happens, not around how a textbook pretends it does.
Courses and notes I maintain

- Cross-Platform Application Development DAM · Desenvolupament d'Aplicacions Multiplataforma · CFGS

Background
Teaching. IT teacher since 2021, tenured civil servant in the Catalan public-school system (Secondary and Vocational Education Teaching Corps, Departament d'Educació, Generalitat de Catalunya). I supervise final projects with agile methods and a clear focus: students should pick up real ship-to-production habits before they graduate.
Engineering. Combined Bachelor's + Master's in Computer Engineering — FIB · UPC BarcelonaTech, 2007. The old 6-year Enginyeria Informàtica, now mapped to EQF 7 · MECES 3 · 375 ECTS.
Psychology. Combined Bachelor's + Master's in Psychology — Universitat de Barcelona, 2000. The old 5-year Llicenciatura en Psicologia, EQF 7 · MECES 3 · 300 ECTS. Shapes how I think about learning, attention and how people actually build mental models — which is most of what teaching is.
Management. Bachelor's in Business Administration and Management — UNED, 2000 (MECES 2 · 120 ECTS). Shapes how I scope, plan and run projects, both my own and the ones my students ship.
